There are two types of foods: acid-forming or alkaline-forming.  The differences between the two are like night and day.  Or, diseased and not diseased.

Your body is designed for your blood pH balance to be between 7.35-7.45.  Too much acid in the blood causes imbalance and eventually, diseases.  Whenever you eat something that is incomplete (not wholesome) and acidic, your body has to pull the nutrients out of your body's minerals to try to neutralize the acidity.

For instance soda, which has one of the lowest pH levels, if consumed, your body will have to use its water to stabilize the acid.  Your body is intelligent and will always try to work with whatever you give it.  Unfortunately, it can only do this for so long.

How Your Blood's pH Balance Relates to Diseases

Let's take a look at arthritis.  Or any other so-called disease ending with -itis.  All itis means is inflammation.  Arth means joint.  Arthritis literally means inflammation of the joints.  We are trained to give these "diseases" exotic names and deem them to be incurable.  But the truth is, WE give these "diseases" strength when we succumb to them and let them claim our lives.

What causes the inflammation that gives you "arthritis"?  Too much acid in the blood.  No acid, no inflammation.  No inflammation, no "arthritis".  Isn't life simple?

When your body is alkaline-based, you are in optimum health.  This is why certain people that "look" healthy die or contract the same "diseases" that unhealthy people have.  Because, even though they "look" good, they were probably consuming very acidic foods.

Test Your pH Balance

Thanks to the growing awareness of the masses, there are strips available for consumers.  You can purchase here through my affiliate store (I get commissions so, Thank you).  Or you can find them at your local pharmacy or health stores.

About the List

The foods listed below are all alkaline-forming.  There is a difference between acid-forming and alkaline-forming.  A citrus fruit like an orange is acidic but when your body assimilates it, it leaves an alkaline ash.  Therefore, the orange is an alkaline-forming fruit.

This list is a combination of all the research and experiences I've had.  There may be other foods that are not listed but that just means it slipped my eye.  The important thing is that we make a conscious effort to consume as much alkaline-forming foods as possible.

Please share this list with everyone you know!

Very much as I have learned several years ago + new information that I got from you first.

This article highly supplements your articles on vegan diet and juice fasting.

Why do medical doctors not teach these stuffs to their patients? Why does it take ordinary people like us to spread the good word to others?

I learned my own information about this through voluntary readings and research several years ago. The only type of doctor promoting this information to me was a homeopath.

@Percival You know why this is not really taught & supported - LITTLE MONEY! Eat according to your natural make-up and live a healthy life is not marketable for our capitalist world. Especially when you compare it to the huge fast food industry.

I'm glad something here has initiated your knowledge path, as you have for me. You're right, it takes us (the people) to spread the word. Each one, teach one.

Ali: I wasn't very familiar with this approach of eating alkaline forming foods. It seems to make a lot of sense so thanks for all the information. Also, when I looked at the list of what I should be eating, it really drove home the point even more of being conscious of the things that you are consuming and always making certain you are eating as many healthy and fresh things as possible. Thanks for this information.

@Clearly Composed Your welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

@Sibyl A lot of people are not familiar with the alkaline approach. That is why it's imperative that people who do know, convey it to others.

Ali, this is some great information. Lot's of good alkaline forming foods on that list. I've found that keeping an alkaline system is a good way to combat a cold. I'm sure it's good the rest of the time too. :)

Peace,

Three questions...

1) I've heard a little about this before. I've always wondered, don't citrus fruits and a couple other things contain a little acid (ex. citrus acid) What's the difference between this acid and the acid of dairy, meat, etc?

2.)What books would you recommend so that one can learn more.

3.) So that means wheat and other grains are bad for me as well? ( Damn, I can't seem to ever get it right. I'll keep striving though)

As always, thanks much for sharing this info Ali. You are appreciated

Peace Peace Bobby

1 - Yes, they are acidic by nature but when your body assimilates it, they leave an alkaline ash. That is why they are alkaline-FORMING.

2 - Check on the right menu under Affiliates. I have recommended resources (books) under there.

3 - Not so much bad but most of them leave an acidic ash (acid-forming). I don't believe anything is really harmful in moderation. But, definitely eat a lot more alkaline-forming foods!
