What could a future hosbital/mental health center look like?
My mother was Irish and my father native. I spent my whole live trying to understand and learn two cultures and choose which one to fallow. The Irish Culture organizes and thinks in squares and tends to be more interested in systematic things. The Native Culture organizes and thinks in circles or spheres and tends to be more interested in spirituality & art. Can two cultural ways of thinking becombined? Where does the middle man stand? Can systematic physical Medicine and spiritual or artistic mental health be combined? Any creative ideas on how this new hosbital/mental health center will be like?
Well, there already have been cases where the “squares” have allowed for more artistic settings, many years ago hospitals were rather dreary places, now most of them have been remodeled and are more pleasant to be in, and mental health facilities have taken note of the benifits of art. As for the spirituality, many hospitals already have spiritual leaders available for their patients, from the traditional religions to some more “out there” ones depending on the size of the hospital.
