On The Higher Self

Your higher self may seem to be elusive or unattainable, but that is because you are trapped in a world governed by your ego. The ego is a false notion that your physical mind has created to keep your focus upon the body, the material things and what suits its purpose.
As we travel through life we all learn at different rates. We are all individuals on a path we decide to travel. Some of us are further upon our chosen path and have learned lessons that have aided us in growing nearer to our ultimate goal, while others are struggling to get started.
I do not profess to be totally enlightened, but I have read a great deal and continue to learn as I walk upon my path and try to grow into oneness. Along the way some of the things that I have learned I am willing to share with you upon these pages. If what I say helps you to grow and reach farther upon your chosen path then I have done you service and it makes me glad.
With that said join me if you please upon a wondrous journey into a world where self doubt and misery may be replaced with happiness and fulfillment. You see with all my studying I now enjoy a very happy life, filled with joy and prosperity. I do not say these things to brag, for as you will soon see I have no ego. I learned I needed to dispense with that a long time ago.
Now I know that my true self is my higher self, my soul. It is that part of me that has always been and will always be. It is this higher self that defines me and lets me grow towards my ultimate goal of attaining oneness.
Your ego is of the body and not of the soul. It is a prevarication created by society and a need for acceptance. We have been conditioned from our birth to want to fit in and be liked, even admired by those around us. We long for material things that bring us a brief period of happiness. When that ends we desire to know that feeling again and again, so we continue to acquire things to make us know that joy. We desire power over others to help experience a joy that we can never know for any prolonged period.
Once you have begun the journey to find your higher self you may see that you will need a lot of help along the way.
